When students at the College of New Jersey in suburban Ewing want to go shopping, their nearest option is a car drive away on Route 1.
That may change in two years.
The college is expected to announce today that it has selected a developer to build "Campus Town," a $50 million project that aims to bring restaurants, retail space and apartment-style student housing to the campus. But it’s not just for the students.
"We see this as a real opportunity for us to strengthen the college’s relationship with the town and create a center where the college and community can engage each other," Stacy Schuster, a spokeswoman for the college, said today.
