Dennis Tootelian, the California State University, Sacramento, marketing professor who directed the college's Center for Small Business for much of its history, has stepped down from the post.

Tootelian, who entered into an early retirement program after 38 years at the school – 37 years as the center's director – will teach one semester a year at Sacramento State.

Tootelian and Sanjay Varshney, dean of Sacramento State's College of Business Administration, co-directed the center for six months last year as Tootelian began to transition out of the role. Varshney is now the center's director.
