Chicago State University wants Obama presidential library

Another Chicago school wants to be the future home of the Barack Obama presidential library.

Chicago State University is exploring a bid to make the Far South Side campus the library's home base, putting the school in the running with the University of Chicago and University of Hawaii.

CSU isn't the only interested party. Residents in the historically black Bronzeville neighborhood say they have 37 acres that are a perfect fit. The vacant site of the old Michael Reese Hospital was purchased by the city several years ago in advance of Chicago's failed bid for the 2016 Olympic Games.
