Central Connecticut State University was shutdown for about three hours after a man carrying a gun, a sword and body armor was sighted on campus. A suspect was arrested Monday afternoon, and there were no injuries.

Police earlier told NBC that a man armed with a gun was seen entering a residential hall at CCSU just before noon. A witness told NBC two men were led out in handcuffs, and one may be a student, the witness said.

New Britain Mayor Tim O'Brien told reporters at the scene at 3 p.m. that one suspect was in custody and there were no reported injuries. He did not comment on the second man led away in handcuffs.
