CC of Aurora Foundation secures grants for scholarships

The Community College of Aurora Foundation has secured two new scholarships specified for Aurora Public Schools students and immigrants who are enrolled at the college.

A $25,000 grant from the Denver branch of the law firm BakerHostetler created the first program. That money goes directly toward the tuition of qualified APS super-students who are the first members of their family to attend college.

"First-generation students are a significant portion of our population here at CCA, and it's the area where there is probably the most need," said Diana Whye, executive director of the Community College of Aurora Foundation.
