Campus Televideo(www.campustelevideo.com), a leading provider of custom cable TV, ResNet data and other telecommunications services to over 240 colleges and universities nationwide, has integrated with Rave Alert from Rave Mobile Safety to deliver emergency notifications through on-campus cable television Emergency Alert Systems (EAS) using FEMA adopted Common Alerting Protocol (CAP). Campus Televideo and Rave Mobile Safety successfully deployed this solution in cooperation with Fitchburg State University, located in Fitchburg, Mass.

Integrated emergency solutions benefit campus safety by allowing them to enter a message through one platform and have it delivered consistently across multiple devices, now including television. Prior to this launch, EAS messaging to televisions required accessing a separate platform, creating potential issues with delivery time and consistency.

“The goal of any EAS system is to quickly deliver a consistent message to as many touch points as possible, and the integration of television into our customers’ existing EAS platforms accomplishes this goal,” said Jon Stewart, Sr. Director of Business Operations for Campus Televideo. “We thank our customer, Fitchburg State University, for their participation and look forward to working with an industry leader like Rave Mobile Safety as we implement this service with our mutual customers across the country.”

“Integrating the EAS and RAVE systems allows us to deliver emergency messages to student TVs and campus bulletin boards in a quick, efficient manner,” said Jamie Roger, Director, Auxiliary Services, Fitchburg State University. “No one wants to add additional steps and time during a time of an emergency.”

“Our goal is to provide our customers with a single, easy-to-use and highly reliable, point from which to manage their emergency notifications across all available modes of communication,” said Todd Piett, Chief Product Officer at Rave Mobile Safety. “The standards-based integration with Campus Televideo, is a great example of effective multi-modal notification that improves the institution’s ability to quickly disseminate their message. “
