California State U Sacramento Official Will Leave To Lead Stanislaus Campus

Joseph Sheley, provost for California State University, Sacramento, will leave the university in June to take the job of interim president of California State University, Stanislaus, CSU officials announced Thursday.

The provost is a Sacramento State alumnus who returned to the university in 1996 after serving on Tulane University's faculty for 21 years.

Since returning to CSUS, Sheley has served in numerous leadership positions, including executive vice president, director of alumni relations and, from 1996 to 2005, dean of the College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies.

Sheley is currently the vice president for academic affairs, as well as provost.
