During his first 100 days as Butler University's president, Jim Danko has heard one phrase more times than he can count.
"People here keep saying, 'We're looking for Butler to go to the next level,' " Danko said in an interview last week. "It's a rather vague statement."
Danko was inaugurated Saturday as Butler's 21st president -- though he has been working in that role since Aug. 1. He was announced as the Indianapolis school's next president in April, following the decision by Bobby Fong to leave the job after a decade.
His mission, Danko said, is twofold. First, he must forge a consensus on what exactly it means to get to the next level. Secondly, he must use his leadership to help propel Butler higher.
