Wildlife officers this morning tranquilized a bear that climbed about 15 feet up a tree at the University of Colorado's Williams Village housing complex.
After a short wait, the bear fell out of the tree and onto pads that had been placed on the ground on the boulevard near 30th Street. The bear landed on its back.
"It was really a perfect landing," said Ryan Huff, spokesman for the CU Police Department.
Huff said the decision was made after 10 a.m. to remove the bear because of its proximity to student dorms and U.S. 36.
