Baker College appoints new president

A new president will take over Baker College’s campus at the end of this academic year.

The campus here opened in 2003, and since that time the school year has thrived and become an integral part of the community.

President Aaron Maike, who has led the charge to an enrollment increase of more than 500 percent since he took over in 2006, is leaving at the end of this school year to take the same position at Baker’s Owosso campus.

Yesterday afternoon, the board of regents for the college announced his replacement, Kristine Barann.
