The attorney for fired Dickinson State University President Richard McCallum said Monday his client was not treated fairly and will fight for his job.
North Dakota University System Chancellor William Goetz said a notice of termination was sent to McCallum on Sunday, after McCallum did not respond to Goetz's earlier request to step down in a dispute over falsified enrollment numbers.
“Since he has not taken the initiative on his own to resign, this is a letter of intent to dismiss,” Goetz said Monday.
McCallum's attorney, Ben Thomas, of Fargo, said his client would ask for a review. McCallum has until 5 p.m. Thursday to request a hearing, Goetz said.
