At Cloud Fair 2012 this week in Seattle, ATEN and US Micro demonstrated a new hardware-based cloud computing solution at booth #9. Available now, CriKit (Cloud Resource and Infrastructure Kit), is a compact and energy-efficient, multi-node desktop cloud computing solution.
Developed by US Micro, the CriKit solution is comprised of several hardware components: powerful micro-servers, networked attached storage, a 1GB Ethernet switch, a 19" LED monitor, keyboard, optical mouse and finally, ATEN's CS1768 -- an eight-port DVI/USB KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) switch.
CriKit was custom-developed to provide unique business value for a variety of applications such as software development, software test and quality assurance, training, demonstration and education. Since it employs generic Intel x86 computing platforms that run all major hypervisors and operating systems, it can be used across industries on a wide variety of applications.
