Ark. Ethics Commission: Rule Applies To College Chairs

The Arkansas Ethics Commission says department chairmen at the University of Central Arkansas must file an annual Statement of Financial Interest.

The decision issued Friday was requested by UCA Chief of Staff Jack Gillean and could apply to department chairs throughout higher education in Arkansas.

The reports include their salaries, sources of income, investment income and any gifts they receive.

Gillean told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that he requested the opinion after several UCA department chairs indicated they didn’t believe they were obligated to file the reports.
