It’s not your typical classroom setting.
Parked on the campus of Bishop State Community College, the large trailer on wheels has been converted into a training site for high-tech occupations in the maritime, aviation, manufacturing, chemical and automotive industries.
The mobile unit is one of five that will rotate among area community colleges, each trailer with a different curriculum and its own instructors.
Bishop State, along with four other two-year colleges, formed a partnership that won a $4.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. The four other regional schools are Faulkner State, Alabama Southern, Jeff Davis and Reid State.
