Aquinas College expects to start construction on $5M dorm by December

Aquinas College is planning on breaking ground on a new residence hall by December, a facility that is expected to accommodate 64 students and ease demand for on-campus housing.

The residence hall, which could cost as much as $5 million, is expected to be completed in time for the 2014-15 school year. Administrators say it will reduce a waiting list for student housing that climbed to 60 students this fall.

“I had some students in my office last year, and I looked them in the eye and said ‘We’ll do everything we can to have a room for’” you, said Brian Matzke, associate vice president for student affairs.
