Apartment Company Gives Ball State $1M

A Ball State University program that offers degrees in residential property management has received a $1 million donation from a Seattle apartment company. College of Applied Technology Dean Mitchell Whaley said the donation from Weidner Apartment Homes will fund scholarships and a Weidner Center in the college. The Muncie Star Press reported that Ball State is one of only a few schools to offer the degree. Weidner recruiting director Marie Virgilio says the company has hired 15 Ball State graduates in three years and that the students are well-trained.
