Enrollment Rx, a provider of cloud-based Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) solutions for higher education, today announced that Allegheny College selected Enrollment Rx to improve communication around admissions processes. Built on salesforce.com’s enterprise cloud computing platform, Enrollment Rx offers Allegheny the extensibility and scalability to grow as needs change without overhauling their systems. The college expects to go live on Enrollment Rx with a comprehensive prospective student portal in August 2013.
Pennsylvania-based Allegheny placed number one on the 2012 U.S. News & World Report’s “Up-and-Coming Liberal Arts College” list and was recognized for making promising and innovative changes. The college is focused on supporting and developing students’ “unusual combinations” of interests and talents, which requires evaluating each student’s unique fit to the campus. Previously, Allegheny utilized its student information system (SIS) to manage interaction with students. However, the limited CRM functionality of this system was cumbersome and interfered with the staff’s ability to target students’ interests effectively and engage staff in efficiently shaping the class. Allegheny turned to Enrollment Rx to enable more customized communication, facilitate real-time collaboration, streamline back-end processes and automate admissions workflow.
“We need to embrace communications processes that conform to each student’s unique characteristics,” said Rick Holmgren, CIO and associate dean at Allegheny. “Doing so requires a flexible and intuitive communications platform, which we have found in Enrollment Rx and salesforce.com.”
Already a Google Apps campus, Allegheny often looks to cloud-based solutions that canprovide a superior user experience and allow them to scale and adapt. Enrollment Rx assists with integration paths to existing systems, such as the Ellucian Colleague SIS, and offers a suite of products that cover the entire student lifecycle, from recruitment and retention to career services and alumni relations. Allegheny is currently implementing Enrollment Rx in the admissions and financial aid departments and actively exploring ways to extend its use to other areas.
“Enrollment Rx and the salesforce.com platform will allow us to grow into a future we are still in the process ofdefining,” said Jason Ramsey, assistant director of administrative services at Allegheny. “It’s important to know we can choose best-of-breed technology, such as our own email tool. Enrollment Rx’s philosophy of ‘bring your own preferences’ aligns well with that, giving us a reliable CRM that also allows us to innovate and experiment with new approaches and tools.”
