One month after she was placed on leave for reasons that have yet to be disclosed, Susan Aldridge has resigned as president of the University of Maryland University College.
Aldridge’s resignation was announced Thursday in an email from the chancellor of the stateuniversity system.
She says in a statement that she thinks “this is a good time to step down” after six years on the job. But the statement does not give any further reasons for her resignation or her leave.
Aldridge will remain on administrative leave through Aug. 31 and will work with the university on special projects during that time.
Javier Miyares will continue serving as acting president.
