Albany State University President Everette J. Freeman has been named as the new president of the Community College of Denver in Denver, Colorado. The announcement, made by the University System of Georgia said Freeman, who has been president of ASU since 2005, will step down from his position on October 31.
"President Freeman has guided Albany State with integrity and with a focus on serving its students and the community," said Hank Huckaby, chancellor of the University System of Georgia (USG) in a release. "Under his leadership, the University has created strategic partnerships with state, local and federal agencies and its financial performance has significantly improved. He also has made important contributions to the University System, particularly in the area of emergency planning."
