Alabama A&M University students are planning to hold a protest rally today at noon on campus, SGA President Andrew Foster said.
"We want to send a message to the powers that be," Foster said today. "There are a lot of students unhappy with several decisions made this year (by the school's administration). Students feel we have not been given the opportunity to voice our input."
Among issues that have angered students, according to Foster, are the implementation of a dress code on campus and a change in the spring graduation ceremony.
Foster said he supported a dress code and had raise the issue with the school's board of trustees, of which he is a non-voting member as SGA president. But no committee was ever established to outline the dress code, Foster said, and a dress code was implemented on campus without student input.
