Saying he hasn't been fully paid, Huntsville attorney John Taylor has resigned as counsel for the Alabama A&M University Research Institute.
Taylor filed a motion for withdrawal Monday with Madison County Circuit Judge William Bell, who granted the motion the same day.
Taylor said he is owed a "substantial amount" of money for his work representing the Research Institute, which is defending itself in a lawsuit filed by Alabama A&M. Taylor said he can no longer work under such conditions.
"I've got children," Taylor said this week. "I need to get paid, just like anybody else needs to get paid."
