Officials of the Louisiana State University system have decided to reopen its Baton Rouge campus for classes Friday after being closed for Isaac's sweep through south Louisiana. Meg Casper, the chief spokeswoman for the Board of Regents, said the decision to hold classes was made after a Friday morning meeting of campus officials.

Officials also decided to open LSU campuses in Alexandria and Eunice on Friday, Casper said.

She said that all schools in the Southern University System will be closed through Labor Day as well as Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, the University of New Orleans, the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Grambling State University and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.

Casper said that the University Louisiana at Lafayette, McNeese State in Lake Charles and Louisiana Tech in Ruston will also reopen for classes on Friday. The three were closed Thursday.
