The debate seemingly never ends in college athletics: Should athletes be paid?
It's as hot a topic as ever given the NCAA's ongoing litigation with plaintiffs in the Ed O'Bannon case. And South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier grabbed headlines last week at SEC Media Days when he said all of the conference's coaches agreed football and basketball players should be paid per game.
The issue was brought up again during ACC commissioner John Swofford's annual state-of-the-conference address Sunday afternoon here at the Grandover Resort.
"You've got to be able to find something that enough people can accept and digest and support in order to move it forward," Swofford said, "and so far collectively we have not been able to do that."
