Charged Up Carts

Bretford Manufacturing has introduced new mobile device carts to support the modern learning environment. The MDMLAP30 30-unit laptop and netbook carts and MDMTAB36 36-unit tablet carts feature a Power Management system designed to continuously charge mobile devices. The system’s Round Robin charging cycle constantly evaluates the demand for power and concentrates on the devices that need it most, automatically sensing when batteries are nearing a full charge and reducing power accordingly. Besides their energy-saving design, the carts are constructed using an average 30 percent post-consumer recycled steel content and are finished in environmentally-friendly powder paint. Pricing starts at $3,948.

Dock and Project

Epson’s MegaPlex MG-850HD and MegaPlex MG-50 make it possible to view content from media players, smartphones, tablets, or laptops on a big screen. The solutions are equipped with a projector, stereo speakers, and a built-in dock for iPod, iPhone, and iPad. Both the MegaPlex MG-850HD ($799) and the MegaPlex MG-50 ($699) are powered by 3LCD technology and feature 720p HD resolution with 2,800 lumens brightness, and 540p resolution with 2,200 lumens brightness, respectively.

Stowaway Storage

SMARTdesk’s iLid computer workstation allows users to work with print and technology materials side by side on 10 inches of desktop space when the computer monitor is in the upright position. Flip the computer down and users have access to a flat desk space. The iLid is available in double ($1,444) and single ($746) workspace stations. Both options provide aesthetic wire management and CPU holder systems, a keyboard storage shelf under the monitor with an optional pull-out tray, and optional locking casters. The tabletops are finished with laminate with PVC edge trim or 3D Thermofoil for flexibility in appearance and budget.

Performance Tracking

The Reeher Platform, a fundraising management tool, has added Reeher Vista Fundraising Profile and Performance Scorecard to its offerings. The year-end performance report helps advancement leaders identify areas of success and opportunities for improvement and allows the development department to gauge its performance based on what it is, and what it should be. And while each Vista Scorecard report is unique to the subscriber’s institution, the standardized metrics allow for comparison across universities. The Reeher Platform offers subscription pricing based on the amount of money an institution raises, as well as the scope of services.
