Last month, Professional Media Group, owners and producers of the EduComm conference, announced a new name for the conference’s 2012 incarnation: UBTech.
When it began in 2003, EduComm’s focus was on the convergence of AV and IT in higher education. But as the years went by, EduComm sessions increasingly reflected the disciplines and topics covered in University Business magazine and its companion web seminar series.
With that came the opportunity to rebrand the conference to more closely align with the overall focus of University Business and the University Business Leadership Institute. When it returns to the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, June 11-13, EduComm will become UBTech, with the tagline “Technology Changes Everything.”
Content will focus on how technology impacts university operations in: Facilities Planning and Design; Teaching and Learning; Marketing Your Institution; Financial Services; and Campus Network and Infrastructure. UBTech will feature captivating keynote speakers such as Henry J. Eyring, co-author of The Innovative University (Jossey-Bass, 2011), and Dr. Temple Grandin. The program will be announced in January.
